Default White Cube - floaty sounds and metallic noises

Had an occasion this week to experiment with noises, ambient sounds and in one case sleigh bells. CCMixter.Org put out a call for folks to put ambient sounds/music to a poem called "White Cube". It was good excuse to complete some "just for fun" synthesizer, vocoder, pad and noise exercises. If you are interested in floaty sounds and metallic noises there is a play button in the middle of the page some where:

The background sounds have a nice, spacey ambience but, the vocal overlay, I feel, is a bit too busy. This would make a good case for where less is more.

Good critique, Victor. Agree that more could have been less.

I took the approach that it was not a vocal overlay but a music underlay; maybe my arrangement was too busy for the poem kept in tact. Some remixers took your approach editing the poem into manageable and sometimes fewer pieces within their remixes. I thought about how that approach could sound mo' better but decided to opt for "less editing is less work for a one session project" over "more editing can produce less content which may yield the less is more quality effect".

To address simplicity and less is more, posted a third version called "Keep It Simple Cubic". http://ccmixter.org/files/texasradiofish/23912
