Naw, I'm just an old guitar picker, looking for a nice place to hang.

I'm kinda bummed out.

Our K/B player up and quit, so now the praise band is sounding mighty thin.

man I wish I had just some of the back ground y'all have. I would be fun to play a tune or two with you guys, but I haven't played any secular music since I was 20.

I actually quit playing for almost 20 years, forgot everything. I can jam in key, but can't remember many of the old songs anymore.

Lately I have been listening to a lot of Brian Setzer, gonna try and incorporate someof his technigue into the praise music.

sure wish the K/B player hadn't left. :(

Hey 12
Just come on out it does not matter if you know the songs r not I don't they just start playing and you have to find the key and go for it. I make plenty of mistakes and it does not matter it is all in fun, it is a great relaxed time.

some of the best players that I've ever played with was in the "praise band".. I remember this one keyboard player when I first moved to El Paso.. couldn't read music.. but could do a double handed boogie in any key, any song... usually busted a string or two in in bottom notes each week...

Can't go wrong by studying Setzer. I caught a TV special on him and his Big band a few years ago that left me speechless. It was so unique seeing the combination of his style in conjunction with a Big band style backup...the band and sound was one of the most exciting things I have ever seen, period.

yep Stezer is the cat's meow, :lmao: ( pun intended )

Beodwolf, that sounds like our K/B player. He could lay down a boogie. I called him the lounge lizard. Most of his improve stuff sounded like Murph and the Magic Tones LOL

Thanks Q. Even at my age I still find it hard to get past my selfconscience insecurities.
