I just read this article on El Paso Times, looks like two local burger joints made Texas Monthly's List of 50 Best Burgers. I'd never heard of Toro Burger Bar. Anybody been there? Got me in the mood for Burgers so I headed over to Frisco Burgers on Yarbrough, damn that place was packed.

...Roscoes Burgers are great. Those things need to come with a free defibrillator. Friscos are pretty much the same. Whataburger at 3 am after a gig is cool. Double meat with cheese and jalapenos....:yeah:

Indian Cliffs Ranch grinds up all their unsold expensive aged steak every evening. They sell it frozen for around $1.89 a pound. Grill it up and you have the best burgers in town. Like eating a $20 steak with a lot less chewing effort.

Hey Keith. Been to Toros near UTEP. Good burgers but they got nothing on Roscos. The sweet potato fries are damn good though.

IMO Papaburger on Piedras has the best burgers in town. They are alot like Frisco burger...very fresh, hand made.....fries are great. They have Rosco's beat. Not alot of seats and fills up fast. You can call ahead though!

I have never heard of the Toro Burger Bar. I like Roscoe's Burgers very much. But, for the Toro Burger Bar to rate higher that Roscoe's Burgers, at number 4 in comparison to number 43, it has sparked up my curiousity about trying out the new burger joint that I have never heard of.
If your cholesterol levels are too high to enjoy such rich burgers, you can remedy that by drinking a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar diluted in a cup of water before you eat. By doing this, you help to make your body's digestive system work more effeciently as the vinegar assists with your gastric juices. I know that this method works because I use it everyday. Vineger will help you lose weight and also help keep it off besides allowing you to enjoy the foods that you love to eat.

yep, as a matter of fact, vinegar also helps with acid reflux. It reduces the amount of acid you need to digest your food, therefore reduces the chances of overproduction of stomach acid.

Just eat less fatty and greasy food. And exercise once in a while.
Ya that vinegar thing helps a little.

Just mix a bottle of vinegar into your hamburger meat before cooking?

The heat would destroy the beneficial properties contained in the vinegar. It needs to consumed raw to have any effect. Otherwise, the only effect, if it is used by mixing into the hamburger meat, would be only to affect the flavour.

Yeah We heard about that yesterday (irony) Every now and then they send us TDY to the northernest most part of WSMR (Stallion) and it happens to be 22 miles East of San Antonio,NM. We've been going to eat at the Buckhorn for the last 15 years. We know Bobby and knew his dad Manny (RIP Mar.08) Small place, Big taste! Great folks!

So if ever anyone is headed to Socorro, NM make sure you exit on the SAN ANTONIO- BOSQUE DE APACHE Refuge- HWY 380 exit and go in 1 mile to the Buckhorn Bar. Forget the Owl Cafe...Go Here!!!

Cattleman's has the best burger in the region. The Ranch Burger. Get it medium-well with fries. I also like to get a side of green chili strips to go on my burger but I know that's not for everyone. I occasionally get cheese on the burger too. Superb.

Anyon ew remember Burger Time on Doniphan? I ate there all the time as a kid. Not the same as the one's in Las Cruces. And I like Carcoaler on Mesa.

My top faves:

1) Giant Burger - Rhome, TX
2) Burger Island - Bedford TX
3) Molly's - Arlington, TX
4) Mr G's - Abilene, TX
5) Tommy's - Fort Worth, TX

Charcoaler on Mesa is good too. I've tried the Green Chile Cheeseburger from Great American on Yarbrough that was the best Green Chile burger I have had.

Charcoaler on Mesa "must still be" good.

It was an often frequented fast food spot in the 1970s.

My guitar player says it was one of the places he hit on his visit to El Paso last October. Iconic!
